Zara Annan joined Akers Financial Group in June 2026. She graduated from The John Carroll School in 2025, where she was a member of four honor societies, participated in varsity cheerleading, and served as both Social Media Manager and Secretary for the Black Student Union. She currently attends Spelman College as an Economics major with a minor in Management and Organization and is expected to graduate in 2029. At Spelman, Zara serves as Co-Marketing Director for Future Business Leaders of Spelman and Co-Publicity Chair for the Economics Club, while also participating in several other clubs and honor societies. She is also the founder of ShadeSync, a startup that uses artificial intelligence to help individuals with deeper skin tones find more accurate cosmetic shade matches.
As a Marketing Assistant, Zara supports the firm's marketing and communications efforts across multiple platforms. Her responsibilities include assisting with website updates, social media management, content creation, YouTube and podcast initiatives, and other marketing projects designed to enhance client engagement and strengthen the firm's brand presence.
Zara resides in Bel Air, Maryland. Outside of work and school, she enjoys makeup artistry, spending time with friends and family, and staying involved in activities that combine creativity, leadership, and community engagement.
