Brian A. Akers, CFP®, is the President and Founder of Akers Financial Group and brings nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. With a vision centered on serving clients one at a time, Brian built Akers Financial Group on the principles of personalized financial planning, lower-volatility strategies, and exceptional client service. The firm is dedicated to helping clients build, protect, and preserve their financial assets through customized guidance and tax-efficient planning strategies.

A Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner since July 1991, Brian is a recognized voice in the financial planning community. He hosts the Winning in Retirement radio show on 105.7 The Fan and WCBM 680 and has appeared as a financial expert on Fox 45 and WUSA Channel 9 News. Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech and holds licenses in Life, Health, Property, and Casualty Insurance, as well as Series 7 and Series 65 securities licenses. He is a FINRA General Securities Representative, an Investment Adviser Representative, and a part owner of Daniel Alan Tax Services.

Brian's responsibilities include meeting with clients to discuss investment strategies, developing and delivering comprehensive financial plans, researching investment and product offerings, and creating educational presentations for client events. He also oversees the overall operations and management of the firm while helping clients work toward financial confidence and security in retirement.

A lifelong resident of Harford County, Brian resides in Jarrettsville with his wife. He serves as a board member of the Harford Christian Educational Foundation and as a Deacon at North Harford Baptist Church. Brian is also a former Trustee of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching high school, AAU, and recreational basketball teams and spending time with his family, including his two grown children.
